Libre Closet is designed to put you in control of your data, whether you use the public cloud instance hosted by Lazztech or run the software on your own server. This page explains how your data is handled in each scenario.

Public Cloud Instance

Data we collect

When you create an account and use the public instance at librecloset.lazz.tech, you provide: email address (for account creation and authentication), clothing photos you upload, garment metadata (categories, brands, colors, sizes, notes), and outfit compositions you create. This data is stored on servers managed by Lazztech LLC.

Where your data is stored

Data on the public instance is stored in a database hosted on infrastructure managed by Lazztech LLC. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data. Your wardrobe data is used solely to provide the service. It is never sold, mined for advertising, or shared with third parties beyond essential infrastructure providers.

Third-party services

The public instance uses Cloudflare for CDN, DDoS protection, and basic performance analytics. No personal wardrobe data is shared with Cloudflare or any other third party.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time through your account settings. You can delete individual garments, entire outfits, or your full account. To request complete data deletion, contact us via GitHub or email. We will respond within 30 days.

Self-Hosted Instances

Data you provide

When you self-host Libre Closet, you provide: email address (for account creation), clothing photos you upload, garment metadata (categories, brands, colors, sizes, notes), and outfit compositions you create. All of this data is stored in a database on your own server.

Where your data lives

Self-hosted Libre Closet stores all data in a SQLite or PostgreSQL database on your server. No data is sent to Lazztech, third-party analytics services, or advertising networks. You control backups, retention, and deletion.

Third-party services

The application loads no third-party services. No data is shared with any third party.

Your rights

Since your data stays on your server, you have full control. You can export your data, delete your account, or remove individual items at any time. No one else can access your data unless you invite them.
